Meet Britan

A Gentle Heart with
a Very Special Job.

Britan's Story

Britan is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Barbara's best friend and therapy-dog partner. For more than eight years, they have worked together to bring comfort, smiles and companionship to people of all ages.
Certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Britan has a sweet, even-tempered nature and a special gift for making people feel at ease. His favorite place to work is the library, where children read stories to him through the Paws to Read program.
At hospitals and retirement communities, Britan offers a very special kind of comfort. Many people miss pets they can no longer care for or have been separated from during a long hospital stay. Britan’s visits bring back the warmth and companionship of having a beloved animal nearby. His gentle presence can help people relax, feel less alone, and enjoy a peaceful connection that goes far beyond simply having a dog to pet.
